Jason Anderson grabs 3rd at Anaheim 2 Supercross

Keeping the momentum alive from the first two rounds, Dragon’s Jason Anderson finished 3rd overall at Anaheim 2 Supercross, despite the new Triple Crown format. Anderson came into the weekend with the red plate, and exits SoCal with the red plate still in his possession.

This marks the third straight podium for Jason who is focused and hungry while his main competition of Eli Tomac, Marvin Musquin, Ken Roczen, and Justin Barcia have had uneven starts. He leaves Anaheim with 70 points towards the Championship, and sits in 1st place.

This was the first of three races that will feature the new Triple Crown format. Rather than a Heat Race and a 20-minute main event, the TC format has timed qualifying followed by three shorter main event races, with the overall podium determined by a combination of your results.

“The first race was tough because it was so short,” said Jason of the Triple Crown format. “IT’s all about the start but there’s a lot of racing and it’s kind of crazy and a curveball for us—and for me.”

Next on the docket will be in Arizona for round 4, about 1/4 of the way through the Supercross season. Rockstar-Husqvarna’s Mitchell Harrison raced despite taking a big crash in practice earlier. He finished 13th overall.
